Chaps before I start, please bear with me as my electrical ‘knowledge’ / ability is poor!

I’m trying to wire in 3 gauges all of which have in common a 12v red, Earth black, white (acc 12v for white LED) and orange (acc 12v for blue LED). I want to be able to switch between the white (for daytime) and blue (for night time).

Due to my headlights being permanently on (due to a couple of years living in Canada) the easiest way is for me to put in a small switch rocker / toggle type switch to enable me to switch between the colours as white is too bright at night.

Now, obviously the red and blacks will be connected and wired in accordingly. With the white and orange wires , I’d like to send them to a switch where switch one way and white light, flick the switch and they go blue. So, I’m guessing some kind of 3 pole switch with the power ACC 12v (in), White wire connected to one pole (for white led) and another pole for orange wire (blue led) ?

Does this make sense and if so, can anyone point me in the right direction for the type of switch I will need?
Many thanks

You need a SPDT Switch (Single Pole Double Throw)

Has the car got an illumination switch that you could use to operate a relay that will switch from one to the other when switching the illumination on at night?

Thanks Penelope. I don't know exactly how they did it but to register it in Canada the headlights had to be wired permanently on. If I can find a rocker type spdt switch it should be pretty easy to wire in the power off the clock power lead
