This Halcyon Space Blue T350T

Has anybody got any good large pics of a T350 in this colour?

I am currently considering this car, but am finding it difficult to ascertain the actual colour without driving to the dealer 200 miles away.

I know its blue, but the different pics i have seen ( as well as the ones on the website), show it looking Purple, Navy Blue, Royal blue, Dark Mauve. then after speaking to somebody else, they said it should have hints of green) ??????

Well that is good timing and a stroke of luck for me!!!!!

Can you email me with the pics and hopefully we can discuss certain minor concerns about the car that i have.

BTW, they took the Anthracite wheels off because potential buyers were saying it was 'too dark' with them on. They have however said i can have them put back on if i want to at no extra cost.

Actually Neil, don't worry about it mate. I have just read the "M3 for late T350" thread and it sounds like the car is full of flaws and a right bag of problems, which is why you sold it.

Think i'd be best to steer clear of it, from what you have written in that and other threads i read after seaching in your post history for the car.

Thank god for this forum, i could have been lumbered with it!

BTW, how does the dealer price compare to what you got for it out of interest.

Kevin - not trying to persuade you, I just don't remember Neil getting rid because of this, more because the lucky blighter had a supercharged Nissan 350z in his garage too.

I'd also be interested to know what the 'mark up' is? But i have counted this car out now. Having searched back over his posts, Neil didn't have much luck with the car, especially with the Targa Panels.

This unfortunately would not appear to be the car for me.

The irony being, apart from the targa panels, the car was pretty much sorted in the end. Having said that, I only had it a couple of days after it was away at the factory for nearly 2 months so didn't really drive it again after that.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the state it was in when it came back. The paint wasn't really any better and it looked like the car had been left out in the rain with the windows open. That was my best guess anyway - there were great big dirty streaks down the insde of both doors and the car smelled a bit damp.

Minor points I supposed but I just thought "Christ, you'd think after having my car that long they'd make sure it was practically perfect when it was handed back...." They obviously didn't really give a shit and I then wanted no more to do with the car.

Mechanically, I had very little trouble. Had to have the rad replaced but that was because it got punctured by some road debris.

I just didn't feel it was a 43k experience.

On the price, the dealers asking price is very little above what they paid me - they're not making much at all on it.

I think it would just come down to whether you could live with the crap targa panels. If yes, then its probably worth a punt. If not, look somewhere else.

Ive now driven 3 different Targa examples and i asked the dealer to adjust the Panels to the best of their capabilities to reduce wind noise. There certainly is substantial differences between cars (even after further tweeking during teh drives). So if yours is bad, then i shall be looking elsewhere.

I can't comment on how mine compared to other cars, perhaps it wasn't the worst example but who knows. What I do know is it was unacceptable for me.

There was a bit more history to my car than is perhaps apparent. I originally ordered a coupe but the factory "accidentally" built me a targa. They then offered me either financial incentives to have the targa or they would put a new coupe body on it, which would obviously mean I'd have to wait much longer for the car.

In the end, and perhaps wrongly, I chose to take the targa. I believe if I'd stuck with the coupe I'd probably still have the car.

Later on when it was driving me insane (I call that The Draft Excluder Period) I even asked the factory if it was possible to either (a) fit the new style roof (but from reports I don't think even that was a 100% fix) or (b) fill the panels and make the roof flat or (c) go so far as to chop off the roof and replace it with a coupe roof. They refused all 3 ideas, even when I offered to pay part of the cost.

A friend of a friend has just bought an 05 T350T and hes too is having terrible problems with wind noise from his targa panels. Havin driven my T350C he wishes he'd bought the coupe, but as most people probably rightly think, well its the T350 with the added advantage of some open air driving if required.
But not at the expense of terrible wind noise, this was what put me off the targa originally having test driven a few.
I knew after havin owned a few tvrs these panels eventually would wear very thin on my patience and to be honest havin come from a chimaera to the coupe i dont really miss it at all.
Going for the coupe gives more choice too.

With careful adjustment the panels shouldn't make any noise whatsoever below 100mph. Unless it's a really windey day mine are quiet up to over 100mph if I fit them straight and tight. Where does your mate live? Maybe I can show him some fitting tips.

In normal driving with the panels in mine are completely silent. It's a bit noisier with them out though

Funny thing on a Bank Holiday, but I had a call today from a 'Lisa' who works at Dream Machines, telling me that since i hadn't got back to them on the car, they would be open to offers if i was still interested.

I told them about the problems with the car that i had found out and also the fact the Origin B2 is screwed to the dash, and she said that the owners of DM would be willing to accept offers if these were problems stopping the sale. She also said that any problems would be covered and rectified by them also in the offered price.

Hmmm, now they are either desperate to shift the car (she admitted thay had had it for a long time!), or sales are down?

No one likes looking at the same stock month after month and sales are generaly quiet I understand.

Several prospective purchasers of used T350s will be going the new car, choose your own spec, 3 year warranty, better finished better value for money car (free air con and diff)route.

To go back to the original post, I think TVR ust have re-mixed Halcyon Space blue a bit if you're right as I have a 97 chimaera in Halcyon Space.. it does look Purple, Navy Blue, Royal blue etc in varying lights but definitely no hints of green. Looking at the pictures though, the 350 seems a more "grey" kind of blue than my car, although that could be the light I guess.

Problem is Kevin, having only ever had the one T350, I can't really compare it to another and mine may well have been a good example. If you're genuinely interested in the car, go and test drive it and have a good look around it. As I've told you, I had no mechanical issues with it whatsoever. As for the rest of my comments about the car, these are things you can see and experience for yourself. My original comments on the M3 vs T350 thread, although still valid, were obviously tempered by the fact that I'd just lost over 10k on the car. At its new asking price its a different ball game.

Good luck. Sounds like DM do want to get rid of the car, but I suspect this is only because they have had it for a long time. They seemed to have gone through a spell of buying up loads of second hand T350s. Perhaps too many? Sounds like they are open to a reasonable deal. And by the way, the Origin mount is not screwed to the dash. The bottom part of the mount is wedged in the gap between the stereo surround and the top part of the dash. No screws have been screwed into the leather.
