Having seen a youtube video of this game with a steering wheel and pedals it looks like immense fun.

Because the graphics are so good, with a force feedback wheel could forza horizon 4 feel quite close to driving a real car once you get into it?

Tempted to go the whole hog and get wheel pedals, xbox one x and forza.

From what many folk have said on here, the game is better set up for the controller/joypad

No matter how much you spend it is still a game and an arcade one at that.
For a more realistic handling model you want Forza Motorsport 7 for the tracks, but it is still a game.
Wheels take a long time to get setup to feel right, don't expect it great from the outset.

Gran Turismo though is designed to be best on the wheel. So much so that on the controller you get uncontrollable increased tyre wear.

I have the full wheel, pedals and shifter set up with horizon, I think I made it a mile before I unplugged it and went back to the controller, I'm sure with perseverance it would be good but it annoyed me so much I couldn't be bothered, braking was terrible.
