I've been reading up on the Berkeley Burke debacle recently. I have a little vested interest I guess as I was once a Director many moons ago.
A strange judgement that seems to absolve an insistent investor no matter what disclaimer they may agree to. I read they spent the thick end of £2M fighting it.
Will this drastically affect SIPP's I wonder, and will the principle be extended to SSAS's?
Speaking to a few IFA's I am told that many SIPP providers are now refusing any unregulated investments except commercial property.
