Big thumbs up to Austec.

As per the title really.
Just got the car back from Austec after its' 30k service.
Sort of good news all round really!
On the way down there (last Wednesday), the traffic was ABYSMAL! Sitting in the jam, I noticed that the fans didn't cut in, even at 103Deg with steam coming from the bonnet!!
Never mind, going to the right place. The service down there is indeed 'top notch'.
Had to get new pads all round, had the discs skimmed, an unknown slow puncture repaired, but had to wait a week for a faulty temp. sensor (hence the fan thing).
They didn't do anything without telling me first (which was nice!), and a chat with Paul (the 'Guv') really put me at ease.
Had to wait 'till today to collect it, as Paul had spent most of yesterday with it on the rollers.
Now for the bit you'll like :-)
It is, and I quote "...the most powerful 'S' I've ever tested!"
He couldn't get an accurate figure, as the rear wheel alignment was a bit out (they couldn't sort that as they had a Cerb. in bits on their jig), and every time it got to 6500rpm (ish), it tried to climb out of the rollers.
This was not before he saw a repeatable 360bhp at the wheels (I saw the traces).
This means when the alignment is sorted, we're easily looking at 415+ at the flywheel!!!!
And.......there's more to come!
With a remap and some intake fettling (new trumpets, K&N, etc) he reckons we'll see big gains in the mid-range especially. Whoo hoo!!!!
Oh, and with the new plugs, throttle pots re-aligned, etc, the occasional misfire I had is but a distant memory!!
It idles much smoother with absolutely no hesitation at all. And does it GO!!!!
How nice to find a company like this, when my personal experience is mostly of the rip-off / wool-over-the-eyes variety
The rumours are true!
