Breather Hose Question

Hi all, quick question...

I need some breather hose with a 10mm ID. I can buy silicon style house easily enough, but it is quite bulky as it has almost a 3mm wall.

The OE pipe is some kind of harder thinwall pipe that appears to have been heated and shrunk onto the fitting. Can this be bought and used by a home mechanic, out does anyone know of an alternative thinner walled type?

I regularly use thin wall aluminium tube from B&Q of all places,comes in various sizes at 1mtre lengths and is anodized too.you may need a pipe bender though if you need bends in it.
