I have replaced my SAS which was a lot simpler that I expected. I now have steering angle sensor identification coming up on the scan tool. I'm guessing this now needs to be re programmed and calibration.
I only have a C110 scan tool so I’m guessing this is not good enough to program the SAS. Will I need to go to someone with a better diagnostic tool

Thanks John.

There's a couple of ways of doing this, using Ediabas is probably the easiest (Tool32 / Toolset32).
Where abouts are you?

Where abouts in Spain? I spend a good bit of time there (work & holidays).
Maybe more importantly, but which BMW do you have (model & year)?
Anyhow, I'd recommend a cable from cableshack, something with DCan, they send you the software too. Once you have that sorted, I can talk you though the programme & get you sorted.

All good - it's a bit further south than I usually travel. It's well worth getting an old laptop & the cableshack DCan cable & software, you'll be able to use it for the entire car's modules, not just this one job.

Many thanks. I will definitely get the lead and software and try to do it myself.

Hi finally ordered the cable. Is it pretty simple to use

I’m hoping it’s quite straight forward.

Thanks John.
