The interior carpet set looks tired and need a new set.
Lakeland offer a full pre cut carpet set and wondered if anyone had used them before?

I've recently finished fitting a full Lakewell kit. Excellent quality utilising the original factory Sliverknit material. Every single piece of carpet is in the kit plus they supply a quantity in a roll to cater for any problems. Thoroughly recommended.

Just ordered the full carpet set plus matching door card. With courier vat and insurance came to 500 euro. 1 picture not on website but attached shows a nice quality.
Just need to figure out the backing.
I could do with knowing how to remove centre console and A pillar plus pillar the that has sunvisors attached. I see 4 screws but it won't remove.

OK, from memory when I did mine it was a PAIN IN THE ... to do (in places).
The worst bits was the small bit a of carpet in the dash and getting the old carpet out of the front foot wells.
I managed to do the dash carpet by using flat soft tools to push the new carpet in without the need to remove the dash.
(In mine) The front foot well carpet is fitted (glued) to the tub before the dash was installed, so there were bolts at the sides going through the inner body, though the carpet and into the dash structure. Good luck getting the carpet out. I managed to cut it out with a long knife and refit the new around the bolts.
You will need to loosen the centre console, 1st remove the cubby hole (bolts from behind in the boot), then you can get to the bolts on the centre console.
You will need to remove the seats, in some cases I had to cut the bolts off and replace with new as corroded and bent. Best to just get new ones before you start the job, but beware they are different lengths.
You will need to loosen the chrome front seat belt slide rails and they run through the carpet.
This all sounds like a lot, but I did mine in a weekend on my own and still had knuckles at the end of it.

Thanks for that. The centre console will be coming out as I want to put some sound/heat proofing over the tunnel.
The footwell foam, at least on the drivers side, is already falling apart. I've a mutlitool (oscillating type you use in bathrooms) that will do most of the scraping.

Some update photos as the carpets are coming late next week.
The seat belt rails could do with a clean up, traditional rust removing techniques aren't working so still trying to figure that out . Same situation for the drivers seat bolster, I think it's beyond a regular repair but happy to hear otherwise.
You'll see how the carpet has faded on the side tunnel compared to the part that is under the centre console, quite something. As is the dirt on the rear parcel shelf. As I mentioned before I'm thinking of using sand fabric spray to tidy up the hessian seeing as it's a pita to remove.
I'm going to change the centre armests, gear and handbrake gaiters to navy blue as there's a little too much cream for my liking.
Feels good to have stripped out the interior, it wasn't too hard overall. Lets see how the refit goes.

Nice work so far. All I can say is take your time. I’ve done 2 carpet refits myself on my T350. Second time was due to rushing the first time and the dislike of the colour.
It’s not easy. Plenty of Stanley blades and patience required. Really does lift the car though. I replaced every single chassis nut, bolt and washer that was accessible whilst there for stainless too. There are plenty of prep jobs to undertake even though nobody will ever see them. OCD can take over with me though. Frustrating at times but don’t rush.

That settles that then... New pair ordered.
Local trimmer can do handbrake and gear gaiters in blue for approx £30 each and arm rest pods for £40 each. Seat bolster will be £200, he'll plans to remove the leather and cha ge out that section, says it'll match..... Here's hoping, but have to wait until June for the work.
