Hello all. I have a mint E36 owned for about 14yrs now. My regular mechanic has retired and I now need to find someone whom I can trust to do all the little jobs he used to do. The car has wanted for nothing but I have maintained it regardless.

I ask if you can give me the best recommendations please. I live in the London Surrey area so anywhere around this region would be most suitable.

I heard there is a place in the Hayes area but I cant remember the name.

Many thanks in advance.

TWG Automotive in Camberley have looked after all my BMWs for the last 5 years - they have been great.

Will, the Principal, is ex-Sytner and used to race an E36 Compact so I'm sure he could keep your E36 in good health!

If it isn't that local, he does have a courtesy car (Mini) that's either £10 or £15 a day (can't remember which), but if you want it you'll probably need to book your car in well in advance - but IMHO it's well worth it.

Good luck anyway. thumbup

CPC in Amersham

They’re the go to people for a lot of owners of cars like the E46 M3....they specialise in BMW’s of the E36,E39,E46 era. When I was last in there a guy had brought his E46 M3 up from Wales to be worked on such is there reputation!

Like Speng I'm looking for a long term maintenance partner, in my case for my trusty E39. I've seen BMS recommended before and I intend to book my car in there (I believe Martin Hind at Dartford Transmissions is the E39 guru but that's an awkward place to get to from where I live).

Thank you very much guys. So much choice.

I will do some more research on each of the above.

I was also thinking to ask them to do the bbtb manifold conversion. As said before I hardly ever drive this car maybe 1000 to 2000miles a year if that.

Thanks again.

Are they not just some sort of secondhand car dealer now?

TWG gets my vote too.

They're also close enough to Camberly that you can walk in and get some food/do some shopping to pass the time.
