chim 500 0-60?
Discussion
Tested mine with a mates accelerometer gizmo and returned results of 4.25, 4.21 and 4.54 (ok, not every start can be perfect). The results below sound feasible - alot depends on tyres, surface condition and the car itself (standardisation of output would not appear to be TVR a strong point!)
No passenger, a near empty fuel tank and a few less pies for the driver can probably save about 150kg - well over 10% in all up mass. Remember that Mr Newton tells us that a=F/m!!!

Thing that interests me is that whilst this is the figure that TVR put out (or thereabouts), I have never seen a magazine test that has accomplished it. Or even come within 0.5 seconds of it.
Yet it would seem that some of our members TVR's can get pretty close whereas professional car testers with professional timing equipment cannot.
Not saying that it didn't happen or isn't possible, just that there seem to be some inconsistancies here. So where do we think the difference is?

As stock i think 2nd runs out around indicated 62ish.. if your deliberately pushing it for a 0-60, it WANTS to upchange (in my 4.5) at around 57 (indicated)
The problem herein lies with the 'indicated' for a TRUE 60, then I fear you WOULD need 3rd, 0-55 would be a different story, 0-100 KMH is where we die :/
Comparatively

Professional testers usually have deadlines and have to test the car on the day they have it which can mean less than optimum conditions. The road surface can make a big big difference. The other thing is that many of the professional testers are not as professional as we would thing and in some cases have no clue about how to get the thing off the line.

As i understand it the chimaera as standard needs 3rd to hit 60 especially as the fuel map is done by 5500. if (and there are plenty of them),a car has been chipped it could happily rev to well over 6000 enough to reach 60 in second = a big difference in stats.
My Griff 500 (with M Adams chip) can reach 105 km/h in 2nd gear, I think some 6000 rpm. O.k. my wheels are slightly larger, but only 6mm in diameter. Doesn't hurt my sprints I can tell you
