apparently:

Top Gear
New series. Jeremy Clarkson takes on a Challenger 2 tank in the new Range Rover Sport; James May and Richard Hammond play footie with a Toyota; and James Nesbitt's tries a Reasonably Priced Car.

the shame of it all is clarkson is a much better writer than he is a presenter. i read his stuff when he was on hotcar, anyone remember that?
i also have a personal grudge against him , he tried to chat up my wife when they worked on top gear in birmingham. i still like the guy...dont know where she is now. she did not like him because he insisted on smoking all the time...silk cut iirc

Remeber when JC was at the 'ring, and when he told Sabine he had gone round in 9'59" and she said "Ha I could do that in a van"?

Well sometime in the new series they take her at her word and give her a go in a diesel Tranny. Should be good.

i remember reading an article in nuts magazine when he was filming his latest dvd, everytime they stopped he would be smoking, he said he smokes about 60 fags a day. he really went down in my estimations after reading that

A London Gazette apparently said:
There was a local protest by Messrs Clarkson, Hammond & May that might make the next programme - scheduled for Sunday - rather controversial.

Apparently C, H & M staged an 'impromptu'* protest against 'bus usage' by handcuffing themselves to the front mirrors of a No 9 bus at Hammersmith Broadway bus station. Shouting out slogans about the Greens and 4x4s, and facts & figures about the diesel consumption of buses, they urged people to use cars rather than board the buses.

The event drew attention from so many people that traffic chaos resulted and the bus timetable was affected. When the police arrived, they unchained themselves and left quietly

Also, allegedly a BBC spokesman said that the presenters were responding to "similar protests from FoE and Greenpeace"

Could be interesting on tomorrow...

That's why he talks like he does, in short bursts. He apparently can't draw enough air to speak for a whole sentence!
