Pad spring clip

Brakes clunk every wheel rotation, had a look and figured out it seems to be coming from the pad spring clip as when i squeezed it together the noise went for a few days and now its come back.
Can you replace the spring clip alone or will i have to fit new pads with it? Whats the possible cause of this? I ask because i had pads replaced a year ago and i think i got new spring clips then (im guessing they get fitted with new pads?) and the noise went away then for a few months aswell. Could the caliper be causing the issue or is it likely the clip has never been changed?

Quite likely the clips were not changed, depends on the instructions given, faults reported, the garage doing the work, and the quality/supplier of the parts used.Car is a 2008 swift sport.
Should be able to get a fittng kit to include them from any local decent motor factor, if not the main dealer. Not sure why you think they are not available.
Relatively simple to source and sort, either yourself or via your garage/mechanic.
Eta, or is the clip totally missing, allowng the pad to move and clunk? Looking at the pad type used, if there is a clip fitted there will be no way for the pad to move. Those type can be very tight to get pads into. More chance the clip is missing than letting bhe pad move. Or the pads are very cheap quality and not a good fit.

Doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. Do you mean you can move the clip, even with the pads fitted? If so that sounds like a bigger issue. No way should that clip be able to move with the pad fitted. Certainly not easily. Definitely needs the pads removing and checking, and most likely new clips, if not new pads too. Are the pads loose in just the 1 clip? Is it a pad fault if so?I tried gsf car parts but they only stocked the rear...
You say gsf dont stock them, but can they order them in for you? Or try an independant motor factor, ideally one that deals with apec or mintex, both have very good fitting kit information and availability.

Pads are secured by the backplate which usually has a ridge that slides along the caliper,
The spring clip just tensions the pads
In my experience the spring is either wire or pressed flat spring steel.
You can increase the tension by bending the spring with a pair of plyers
Perhaps some heavy handed installing over bent the retaining spring
