Current Wait Time - 718 Cayman

Lots of factors can affect the lead time, factory shut down as mentioned above can be a biggie. Also, your dealers allocation of a particular model. Porsche dealers can’t just order any model they wish. They are allocated build slots for each model through the year. It could be that your dealer has already sold their 718 allocation for the next few months, hence your wait until September. I waited 4 months for my first, 5 months for my second. I recently spoke to two OPCs about a new Cayman T, both had free build slots this month with a May delivery. It’s just luck of the draw sometimes!
Good luck with the 718. It’ll be worth the wait.

Yeah, it will be worth the wait. I'm just impatient.
Suppose it gives me time to decide whether to have PASM or not. I'm so determined for the car to be perfect for me that each option is considered, researched and pondered for more than non-petrolheads would understand!
What colour T have you gone for?
Could be they’ve been given a lot of Cayman T slots as it’s a new model. In the last year of 991.2 production my OPC couldn’t get a Carrrra S built a lot quicker than a year...but had plenty of GTS and T build slots. I guess at the end of the day the higher spec cars are what Porsche and OPC’s want to sell from a £ perspective

Could be the case - the one model I didnt consider in the 718 range!I'll enjoy it when it's here.
Went for Black with the T. I really fancied something brighter (maybe yellow) but didn’t like the look on the confuserator or in videos online. The only bright colour I liked was Miami blue but I’m too tight to pay £1600 for a colour! I know Black is a pain to clean but it looks good.
As far as PASM is concerned, my current 718 is the first Porsche I’ve had with it. It’s great for me on two counts, slightly softer ride and 10mm drop in ride height, and I would now always spec it in future. However, I’m a great believer in picking the options you like without others advice. One mans must have option is another mans waste of money.
I recommend a back to back drive with/without PASM before ticking the box. Your OPC should be happy to oblige, if not you’ll shortly be invited to Silverstone, they’ll definitely be able to give you a go.

Nice. I only ruled the T out because I wanted the Agate Grey, and needed to keep the other half 'on-side'. She didn't like the fabric door pulls either. Black would have been my second choice. I have driven PASM and non-PASM cars and to be honest I didn't notice a huge amount of difference. I'm coming from a Golf R mk 7.5 which is pretty firm. It's the 10mm drop that I think just sets the car off, with a secondary thought that I might also enjoy a softer ride to the one I'm used to! I've specced 20" wheels so I do think it will help.

Just heard from my OPC that I've been scheduled a June allocation, with delivery in August. New to the board and found it after searching around for reviews/spec etc. before ordering my new Cayman.

Decision now is to accept it on a '19' plate or wait for a '69' - any opinions?

With a June build, sounds like they're being conservative with an august delivery.
69 will be worth more but not much.
Depending on the relationship with you dealer they may want it registering pre September anyway.

They don't seem massively bothered, and no pressure either way. 69 will be worth more but not much.

Finally got to see my local OPC re a Cayman T sadly no build slots available and couldn’t indicate when one would be available? Includes base Cayman & S also. Delivery indicated for next year.
Alas I think I have bought my last Porsche if deliveries are restricted as indicated.
Try another mate. I was told up to 9 months in the middle of March, which came down almost weekly. Now have a build date and a proposed delivery for JulyAlas I think I have bought my last Porsche if deliveries are restricted as indicated.
