So, after 5 months keto and only cheating with excess fats - no sugar AT ALL.....I cheated the last couple of days while away for the OH’s birthday. No huge drama and now feel satisfied/stuffed/etc enough to probably not cheat till my birthday in Nov.

But quick question.....I normal maintain/drop a little body fat with a deficit of 300 a day ish (so 2k cals a week maybe)......The last 2 days I have probably done a SURPLUS of 4K cals - so 8k cals extra this week. Now, where are those extra 8k? I know where the 2k deficit is - it’s just under a 1lb of fat that I drop. There’s no way I’ve put on the fat equivalent of 8k in two days (although the water weight is probably horrific - although swings and roundabouts as I’m full and vascular so actually look ok!)

So - when you binge SO many extra cals, do they pass through - are you expelling waste with calories still within it????? Is my body holding THAT much glycogen? Can that even be possible? What’s the science...bros!?

You st them out. Same as if you're trying to build muscle etc... and take too much protein, it's waste.

Your body will take in and absorb as much as it can and bin the rest.

Now I guess what you're taking in will change what your body prioritises - for example, you're on Keto - you know that if you have alcohol before eating fat your liver will prioritise that and either store the fat or waste it, rather than change it into fuel.

You'll absorb most, and the body will excrete what it can't absorb in the digestive cycle time. Excess carbs will be stored as glycogen (300-500g) and fat, excess fat and protein will be stored as fat.
