INFORAD? good or bad

Ladies and Gentlemen,

INFORAD GPS at £80 is very cheap..

But is it any good?

There must be some drawbacks...

database poor?

inaccurate?

takes long time to lock up?

Anyone bought one?

I bought one a while ago, and although seems pretty accurate and picked up all the cameras in my area it does have a couple of drawbacks in a TVR

1: My TVR is too loud, especially with my music playing too, and so you struggle to hear it beep. With the roof off you have no chance unless you strap the box to your ear !

2: On a sunny day you can't see the little lights either

Overall does seem to work and in a standard car imagine it would work well.......

.......however I have given mine to my dad for his quiet saab and just hope I don't get caught by the BIB

I had actually searched the archives using "INFORAD" but the word doesn't appear in the post... just the website.

The beep volume and small led's had crossed my mind already. But they do look like a bargain, even before you realise they will feed data to sat nav programs as well.

Hi,I got one a couple of weeks ago and it seems to do everything it says on the tin.
Updated a few times from the net with no problems.

I bought one 2 weeks ago, and I'm very impressed. Spotted every camera so far (I hope). Can sometimes take a couple on mins to lock in. I have a Griff 500, and it is mounted on the top of my dash on the RHS.

I find I don't notice the flashing led's (daren't take my eyes off the road). The warning beeps cannot be missed - they are quite loud, but I don't have a sports exhaust (yet). Even with a loud exhaust, I'm sure you'd be able to hear it. However, I never play music anymore - doesn't need any extra sounds to accompany the V8.

Haven't tried to update the database yet, as once you register, you only have 30 days to decide whether to take up the option of a lifetime database subscription for £50 (otherwise £25/year from year 2 onwards).
