Are the wiper motor brushes replaceable?

I've got 53 plate Z4 that has developed a fault with the wipers.

Intermittent is fine but low speed still acts as intermittent and high speed is now low speed.

I stripped and cleaned the contact plate and contacts as per many advice threads but it made no difference.

When the motor cover was removed I could see one of the brushes has practically disappeared. I managed to get an old brush and file it down to try and bridge the gap but it made no difference.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Steve

The wiper motor itself will likely be the same as a 1 Series or E90, loads around for buttons.

Have u noticed any problems with your speedo? Or any abs, dsc, esp faults?

From what you have described is what happens to your normal wipers when the car is stopped at lights - I.e full speed wipers drop to slow speed, slow speed drops to intermittent, etc when car is not in motion but engine is still running
