How comfortable are they really ? They just look very 'slab' like and uncomfortable.

Maybe ok for a weekend but for longer ?

We fitted a RIB seat/bed to our T5 conversion and use a duvalay mattress on top, it's very comfortable, more so than the bed in our previous caravan.

They can be ‘cosy’ on 3/4 width ones (can be a bonus, in certain situations smile), but chuck a mattress topper on it and they’re nice and comfy. Did 2 weeks on one last year and have 3 weeks planned on it in July thumbup

Having just slept in a brand new T6 Jöbl conversion for 5 nights last week I found the bed rock hard and went without sleeping much at all!
It didn’t bother my partner as much. That was with the supplied mattress from the lift-roof bed used on top of the rock & roll bed. With a decently thick mattress topper the situation would definitely be improved.
I think the bed was 2m in length so most of the time with my head touching the rear door my feet were hanging out of the bed, not ideal on the cold nights in the Highlands when we were there. I wasn’t keen on having the Webasto heater on all night, even though the van had a Kidde CO & Gas alarm as well as a smoke alarm. Are Webastos meant for all-night use?

The webasto diesel heater is fine for overnight use, they're perfectly safe and should not vent any fumes into the habitation area. No different to using a gas powered heater overnight in a caravan.

Task, thanks for confirming that. Just my lack of experience with these, too concerned about CO, air gassing or something!
