For $11k you could swap the wings/fenders/lights and then have a cheap period correct car.

The terminology is of no import to me but the surgical enhancement of the very heavy nose from another model does a great disservice to one of the most elegant Mercedes designs.

It's a standard term used in the American car industry to describe the entire front end of a car, from the windscreen forward, rather than having to list all of the individual parts.

Do you also get offended by the phrases:

"Turn signals"?
"Station wagon"?
"Rocker panel"?
"Stop lamps"?
"Emergency brake"?

Either way, it turns an iconic car in to something dire.

Front clip certainly is in everyday terminology in the car mod industry in the USA, and has been for several decades.

Who pretty much made a living from putting S Class front ends on different models if I remember correctly.
