With all the publicity the Gumball generated, it was not suprising to see some of the participants being collared by the Rozzers as soon as they were clear of the M25.

We know the Frozzers have cottoned on to the money making oppertunities Le Weekend has to offer, so can we expect a little more interest in our pre-Chunnel shennanigans from our home grown boys in blue?

Has anyone had a tug (so to speak) before they've even got to France? And what are the chances of the Bib getting putting a bit of extra effort into 'road safety' on the Thursday and Friday?

Difficult in the cars, but perhaps on the ferry

Seriously though, watch out on the M20 down to Ashford or Dover, the bridges often have safety vans atop them...

I would be VERY careful on the M20. I travel on the M20 daily coastbound in the morning and there are not many mornings when I don't see a patrol car. There are also unmarked patrol cars catching the unwary so if you're tempted to 'give it a blast' before the ferry, I'd think again.....

I've never tried the A2/M2 for getting down to Dover - perhaps that could be worth a try?

I was on the initial stretch of the A2 and M2 before diverting to Maidstone earlier this week and a number of the temporary Gatsos seem to have gone now.

Very true, used to travel this way a fair bit, and I lost count of the number of people getting caught here. Pal of mine was caught here a few weeks back.......

'Do you know how fast you were going sir'
'errrr not quite sure''do you'
'we lost you after 105mph, and were doing 120mph to catch up'
'oh.....'
'were you on the phone too sir'

Nah, even then (on Thursdays) the crossings are full of exotica, we counted three Lambos and countless Ferraris last time we crossed Thursday morning.

However, Wednesday seems quiet, we were the only sports cars on the 08:00 crossing we had, less glamourous, but you get given the best spaces on the ferry and less police interest

i'm almost thankful for the liklihood that i'll throw a rod if I do more than 105mph!

nice and steady at 95mph for me, that includes the corners too though

Hmmmm... I'll show you!!!

Shopkeep, more go-faster stripes please. I've got a race to win....

And so it came to pass that the legendary go-faster stripe was proved to make a difference with higher top speeds and superior conering ability .
