MK3 MR2 or MX5
Discussion
Hi,
I'm currently looking for a new car and its come down to a MK3 MR2 or Mk3 MX5. I'm split over which to go for. I do about 8k a year, commute round trip is 20 miles which is a mixture or A & B roads. Boot space isn't an issue as all I need can fit on the front seat.
As for budget I can go to about £4k, from looking around it seems that a good facelift MR2 is about £3k - £3.5k and the MX5 is about £4k.
I know that the Mk2 MX5's are bad for rust, but how about the MK3? Is it mainly just surface corrosion or are they as bad as the old ones?
Does anyone have any experience of working on a MR2? From looking at the bay it looks fairly cramped and a bit of a ballache to work on. Is it easy enough to spanner on or is taking to a specialist the best bet?
Cheers
