If you bought or won a car from eBay, and went to collect the car.
Then if you find the car not as described or the car looks not as expected, then what do you do?
Do you still have to go ahead with complete the transaction because you bid for it, and according to eBay rules, it is a contract that you commited to buy it?
Or would it be possible to pull out from the deal, because you feel the car is not as described in the listing, and is not as expected, or found problems that was not mentioned in the listing?
What is the norm in this situatuation, which sometimes can happen in real life, although it would best if all turned out as expected and gone smooth?
Lately I was looking at possible 2nd car for me to run around in town and use as backup, but many sellers saying, you are bidding to buy it regardless, and you dont come to kick tyres or haggle etc.
But it is difficult to bid with certainty and confidence just relying on sellers description and a few photos of the cars. And if the car you are interested in is 100s miles away it would be impractical to go and try it first before bidding.

All my ebay car buying experiences have been good so far, but if I felt that a car wasn't described accurately, then I would walk away.

If you paid via Paypal, they say you can return and get the money back. But if you paid cash, I suppose you might not get the money back?

eBay Motors isn't binding, for this reason. I don't think its possible to have Paypal as a listed method of payment for cars within Ebay. It used to be but think its been removed.
Sold and bought numerous vehicles on ebay, only rejected one which was a VW Lupo and this was because it was no where near the listing description.
Only thing you lose should be the time and travel expense.
Think there may also come a day where the number plate if issued will need to be displayed in the listing.

no its actually sensible to blur out your reg, especially if its a bit unusual.
As I found out when my corrado was cloned after I put up an ebay ad. I was then asked by the police about my car being involved in a hit and run in Newcastle on xmas day, when my was on my drive in south wales!

if someone want to know the reg to do checks ill send it to them, but at least you have some evidence then of who has had it.

The bid to buy not kick tyres proviso is because you get so many time wasters on Ebay, etc.

Yeah, I want it, but can't pi k it up for three weeks at the earliest...
It's very hard to find decent buyers, just as it's hard to find decent sellers.
If the car is genuinely not as advertised, then obviously walk away, but don't take the piss!

Not worth the hassle of trying to reject it afterwards. I wouldn't buy a car from a dealer or private sale without looking at it first, so why is eBay any different?
