V8V interior lights - which LEDs?
Discussion
I changed the interior lights on my V8V to LEDs, much brighter! The map lights and the foot wells are fine but the doors flash even when the door is shut. Happens both when the ignition / engine is on and when the car is off and locked. It's a quick flash every 10 secs or so.
I thought the LEDs were canbus error free but decided to change them for another set which specifically said they were canbus error free. Just fitted them and I get the same issue.
I'm presuming my boot lights are doing the same - but can't see them when the boot is closed. Any suggestions as to which bulbs to buy? No idea why canbus error free ones are still flashing
as I thought this was one of the things they were supposed to stop happening.
Cheers

Does anyone have a solution to this? I replaced my lamps last week and the door lamps flash blue. I haven’t yet done the footwell lights and I am reluctant to do them knowing they are a pita.
Any ideas other than put the old bulbs back in?

Can't help I'm afraid, but have had similar experiences with household LED upgrades so I don't trust the claims on the packaging anymore.
I fitted supposed high quality 'dimmer switch compatible' LED's in some spotlights at home, and they certainly weren't compatible, I had flickering lights and intermittent light units going on and off, I ended up swapping back to 'analogue' bulbs.

I'm going to sound like a fanboy but here goes. I had similar issues in my house and on another car(flickering, flashing, premature failure and overheating with shut down until cooled).
I tried various different ones and eventually bought Philips LED bulbs.
I've not had any issues since, even in dimmable environments(with dimmable ones, the others flicker, I tried) and not a single failure(first batch bought 4yrs 10 months ago, have installed about 40).
However as a disclaimer I have NOT tried them in my Aston.

Have little technical knowledge about this subject, but would I be correct to say, that there are already some LED bulbs used on the MY 2009 Vantages. The interior lights close to the rear view mirror look silvery in colour, so presumably are LEDs.
If so, would those bulbs be a clue as to which type do work properly?
I recently changed all the bulbs I could find to LEDs, check this thread for more info:

And yes, on my N420, the map lights close to the rear view mirror were LED from factory.
Funny to note how AM tried to match the LED light colour of those with the footwell lights, by using normal bulbs but blue-tinted. Nor very successful, they produce a normal-looking light.

Hi All,
I bought a set from eBay, they were a perfect fit and the cool white light is an amazing difference.

My map lights are fine, as are the footwell lights. It's just the ones in the doors as they flash. So it looks like there is something different about the power to the door light?
Exactly this. My 06 were all tungsten bulbs. Only the door lights flash. I can’t easily check the boot. Map lights are perfectly fine. I also followed the thread in FAQ’s buying the exact same bulbs from the same source as the original thread suggested. Strange how some us get an issue and some don’t seem to.laterontoday said:

With the latest bulbs I suggested in the FAQs thread, no problems registered. To check the boot bulbs, you can just double click the boot button on the remote, bulbs will turn on and you can see them light up from the small gap between the parcel shelf and the rear window.
Hi all,
Same as Johnv8v above, I bought a set off the same site and they all work fab, they also included fitting instructions.
