I do wish given how little the foreign cars comply over here why we should bother! Just got my international driving permit yesterday but that’s our fault.

Sort out the tolls and stop blockades, sort out the immigrants at Caen Port. Lower the fuel prices in line with the rest of Europe then think about charging us more!

Either that or we will start going elsewhere!

As always, the answer is yes/no/maybe. It's only €4 or so for the sticker, so if you have a spare half hour to fill out the forms and go across to France regularly and are planning to keep your current car for a bit then you might as well get one.

If you don't get a sticker and are unlucky enough to need to drive past Rouen when they are prohibiting certain cars, and are enforcing it, and the main road through town is included in the ban (eg. the Paris Peripherique isn't covered by the 'ban' nor are autoroutes through other cities with emissions zones), you might have to make a small detour to avoid the city.

I drive through Rouen a lot, next trip next Tuesday. Not seen anything locally and I would expect that there would be a zone which may or may not cover the main routes through the area. There’s still a lot of Paris outside the Critair zone. It may be a departmental zone when it is only active during high levels of pollution are detected usually announced the day before the ban. The departments around Angers and Chartres have introduced this type of zone. The Sarthe has not gone down this route.
For the cost you may as well get one.
I’ve not got one for any of my cars all French reg but I suppose I should do. Could easily get caught round Angers

There's a useful (assuming it's accurate) app. on Android at least called Green-Zones that lets you basic plug your car details and any zone stickers you may have and shows you which zone's are 'active' at the moment (as a lot only switch on when air quality is poor/certain hours).

The site I linked to in the Paris pollution thread said that Rouen was still at the consultation stage. The scheme is due to be implemented by the end of 2020.
