Why are girls so difficult to understand? Cars are so easy in comparison. Anyway the story;

History; In the last three months of last year I rather liked a girl at college, so decided to approach her at the Christmas ball. I attempted to dance (must remember never to do that again) and was laughed at by her and her friends. Fair enough, these things happen. I went home feeling a little put out, but life goes on.
The Tuesday after the ball – the last day of term – one of her friends approached me announced in front of a packed refectory never to look at or talk to her friend again. Not ideal and made be feel particularly crap, but again grin and bear it and move on.

Between Christmas and Easter I moved on and there were on problems there. I spent time having a laugh with friends and enjoying college. I had a good time and my marks in all my subjects improved quite nicely.

After the Easter Holiday though, things have gone downhill. Every time I looked up/around, she was there, staring at me, and all her friends giving me dirty looks. The friends don’t really bother me, but the way she looks around and holds eye contact for a moment before going red and turning back to her friends gets to me.
The couple of weeks before the AS students went on study leave weren’t wonderful and I spent most of them trying to avoid her and not end up going back to where I was fancying her like I did before Christmas. I was rather looking forward to a couple of weeks with my friends without seeing her (she’s an AS student while I’m finishing my A levels).

The AS students have now been on study leave for a week, but still I can’t seem to try hard enough to avoid her. I’d really like to say something witty or particularly clever to make her think or blush, but thought it’s make more sense to get it out of my system and post on here that risk stirring it up again.

Seems a bit of an essay - well done for keeping with it. Time for a beer and some food I think.

Mosey up. "I suppose a feck's out of the question?"

Sh*t or bust.

Should at least break the ice. She's probably been waiting for you to ask.

I hope this helps.

I suppose writing "YOUR FRIENDS ARE WANKERS!" across your forehead wouldn't help.

If things were the other way round they'd call it sexual harassment...

Dunno. Avoidance woudl be best, but if that's not possible, try to take the high ground. If it was me I'd either give a her big grin and a wave and say 'hello!' like there was no problem at all, or say quite directly, 'If you have a problem, either talk to me about it or kindly go away and bother someone else.'

Whatever, she's feeding on your discomfort and getting some kind of kick out of it: not nice.

Goes like this:-

You: "Do you fancy going out next xxx"

Her: "No thanks/get lost losser/fook off"

You: "Well stop eyeing me up all the time and tell your friend Oxy 10 works best (whilst picking out the spottyist one)

OR

You: "Do you fancy going out next xxx"

Her: "Yeah go on then..."

Either way it's win win for you and at the worst your out of there in about 2 months so what do you care?

Wait till she's alone (no, not like that, I know what you lot are already thinking ) and get into a conversation. If she's interested it should come naturally - if you have to force the issue, reconsider.

Anyway, bring up the topic of her friends with her and ask why they seem to be acting in this particular way towards you. In doing this you will be sorting things out for yourself, but also give a subtext of 'I want to go out with you and I don't want to make things difficult for you with your friends', and things will be given a healthy shove in the right direction (I really don't help myself with my wording do I?)

I found myself in a similar situation recently. Basically a girl I've been seeing for a while who I'd love to 'properly' go out with has housemates who act in the way you've describe. We just discussed it over a drink and it turns out they're just a bit standoffish and sulky at times, nothing more. As a result, we're getting on even better.

Genius, that'd suit one of here friends perfectly...

I was hoping this week'd be nice and quiet with the first years away and Monday started nicely, until she walked in and sat right in my eye-line and called someone then sat there glancing over while posing on her phone. I just went to lesson early and ignored her. Tuesday wasn't wonderful again, but she wasn't in on Wednesday or yesterday which was great. Even my friends said I seemed happier later in the week and few of them know about what's been going on. Today was going great until I was about to go home. The car wouldn't start to begin with and drained the battery trying (The usual 205 GTi click, click, click...and still nothing) so I went back into the refectory to chat to my friends and wait to give before giving it another go. Just as I was about to leave, she walked past the refectory with a friend which has left me with a sour feeling about today, even though the rest of it was good.

Tea's in the oven now so looking forward to that.

Twincam16; I'm not sure I'd like to go out with her really. I'm sure I'd be kicking myself if I said no, but I don't think it'd 'work' after all that's happened.

In that case, leave hit alone. If the situation carries on in the same way it's going to be you who's the weird, staring one.
