Hi!
Long time lurker first time poster. I have a small query about the use of the Wynns EGR Cleaner spray (https://www.wynns.eu/product/diesel-egr-extreme-cleaner/) on the Skoda Yeti. It has the engine management light, a fault code reading says the issue is with the Throttle being clogged in the EGR system. The smoke that comes out the exhaust and less 'oomph' than normal seems to back this up. I have used Cataclean fairly recently and more recently some Diesel Redex.

I picked up some Wynns EGR Cleaner and got home, opened the bonnet up and sort of couldn't understand what to do with the thing. I know vaguely that it must go in the Air Intake but that seems very complicated with lots of large plastic tubes snaking away from the front. Where do I spray this stuff?

Any help would be appreciated, I have been quoted £700 to replace the EGR valve and I frankly cannot afford that!

Never found a good way of cleaning an egr without getting full access to it, sometimes includes removing them to do so. Not always successful even then.

Sounds like you have tried other chemicals for the same issue. Sorry but I think you are throwing good money after bad.

In theory, you just need to spray it into the air intake. Ask yourself how much of it will get through the filter and pipes to be able to do anything to the egr.

To be honest it's worth a try, I have already bought the cleaner. Where abouts is the Air Intake if you don't mind me asking?

Follow the egr pipe. (Just under your engine cover to the right).
Follow it to the left and it’s bolted on to the egr valve. If you’re removing it to clean I think it’s 2 5 or 6mm hex bolts on the side of the egr and 3, 5 or 6mm hex bolts underneath. Remove the boost pipe 1st from the anti shudder valve. Then when removed, the anti shudder valve will be attached to the egr. Either clean with it on or remove it from the egr. Whilst the anti shudder valve is out it’s always good to clean the butterfly valve too.

If he’s asking where the air intake is, what you’ve written may as well have been typed in Swahili.
