My 10-year old DBS is coming up for its 70K service (I know...someone who actually uses their Aston every day!) and I'm being quoted about £3.5K from a main dealer, the bulk of which (£2.2K) is for the coil packs and plugs. Glad I was sitting down! Any advice/opinions?

I just read on one of the Aston Facebook groups that someone used these after another persons recommendation and so far so good....

When I had this done at an independent it was ~£1100 for the sparks+coils, £200 for new gaskets and 8 hours of labour.

And after having a pretty juddery misfire I was more than glad that the primary cats where fine

I'm thinking of going down the independent route for the plugs and coil packs and just the normal service to maintain the AM service history when it's due. I've just started to experience a small misfire under light acceleration which is what's causing my concern to get this fixed before the engine starts to ingest the cats! Just waiting for a quote.

I bought the parts from HVM about £1,6k (export to Sweden). Did the job myself during a weekend. After some back ache and underarms looking like they had been in a cat fight, job was done. My 65k DB9 now runs smoothly.

Sadly I have neither the facilities or confidence to DIY!

Go to BamfordRose and take advantage to clear the primary cats (+40bhp)...
part of labor already done...and have a wholesale price tongue out
