No need to commute, so it's purely a toy

Don't mind what age, as long as it looks good

Must have some shove and either RWD or 4WD for £5k

Turbo / NA / diesel / petrol / 4 door / 2 door / estate - don't care

Suggestions?!

Because I really can’t justify a third, but I really want it.

Edit: Actually, the price has gone up £1k this week, so apologies.

Thought it was ambitious, a very handsome car though!

If I had a spare 5k to spend on another car I'd be looking at another 350z. Reliable, ok handling for a hefty car and that V6. Not particularly fast but has some poke and likes to rev. Seem to be nearing the bottom of the depreciation curve too

Good and bad abound... they can produce some big bills, but if you get a good one you won't lose much if anything at this price point.
I bought at a little over £6k last April and had an epic topless Summer in it. To fix everything on the Porsche 111 point checklist would've cost thousands so I cut my losses and sold for a small loss - but it was well worth it. cool

However, like I said above, I loved it so much I now have a much newer Boxster which I find difficult to justify, but I love it.

I am biased, but.... Toyota MR2 Turbo.

ETA - Sorry, scrap that. I didn't realise how much they had gone up in price!

If you're feeling particularly brave, how about something like this.

You could do a lot worse than a 350z, buy a slightly modded one with suspension & breathing mods done and you got a good 280-300bhp GT car.

Fiesta ST150?

Astra VXR?

MK7 Civic Type R?

Focus ST?

The last time I read one of those many RX8 threads on here, they were going for £2k. I do see your logic ZX10R, but those two appear overpriced compared to eBay auction prices I just checked.
