The story so far!
Started working as an Engineering Consultant / Contractor through a LTD Co. in 2009 (third spell).
Always used a certain national "contracor's accountant" who claim to offer personalised service and advice, but IME don't!
Finished my most recent contract in December 2015, since which time I have been between contracts (over a year!), working on a Fixed Term Contract (temp staff) and, for the last 6 months, working in France which, due to fairly recent rules, meant I couldn't use the Ltd Co. so went through an umbrella.
Now, the good news is that I have a new assignment back in the UK and can revive the Ltd, but now realise that I can do much better on the accountancy side of things than my current provider.
I have checked out the Contractor-UK forum and see a lot of love for FreeAgent software and accountancy services that use this (and offer it as part of their package) - in particular, Gorilla Accounting seems to be one that is favoured.
One downside of Gorilla for me would be that it's another national firm and I would prefer someone local (Basingstoke) if possible, so that I could potentially meet face to face if I feel the need.
So, any thoughts or recommendation would be welcome.

I've used Langdowns for years. Not the cheapest but they know what they are doing & have handled a few colleagues who are one man limited companies & sole traders.
