Kids ride on 2 x 12v and battery indicator

I've just got my son a ride on car it has 2 x 12v battery and it has a battery reading thing on the dash it showed 13 when I first started it up and with the battery charge it came with. Ive had it on charge now 6 hrs and the battery reading shows 14.5. I dont know what this battery indicator is showing me the instructions dont cover it, anyone else with one know the battery indicator actually shows? Should I expect it to go to 24 as I have 2x 12 v?

If the batteries are wired in parallel (sounds like they are) then it will be showing (nominal) 12V readings.
