Got a PCN notice come through but a twist to the tale...

So a PCN notice for a bus lane infraction came through in my mum's name for an 18 plate VW

however.

a) She's passed away and never in her life drove.

b) no one in the house has ever had an 18 plate VW

c) about 6 months/1 year ago my mum was considering getting a 7 seater Sharan through the Motability scheme but in the end decided against it. she wouldnt have been the driver and the paperwork got to the final stage before my mum decided against it.

i've let the ticketing company know this so i'm not worried in that sense.

however could there be a link between the motability application and this car seemingly appearing in my mothers name?

I know I'm missing the point here but a 7 seater Sharan seems an odd choice of car for a disabled pensioner(?) who's never previously driven in their life.

Basically my sister used to take care of her so she would've been the driver - my mum found it easier to get in and out of one - they offer a swing seat option

Motability would show her as the registered keeper, regardless of her ability to drive.
If it came through in her name it may be worth a call to Motability to check nothing is wrong/ dodgy
