Different types of mices

I noticed a mouse in our hedge outside our window yesterday afternoon. It had climbed up, took a small flower and disappeared. Would this be a different type of mouse or do normal mice do this? I'm debating where it's time to put out some type of mouse(mice) trap. I've only been in the house a couple of weeks so not sure if they are a problem

Unless they're in the house, leave Mickey to eat the occasional flower in your hedge.

It could be a shrew, a dormouse, a mouse, a vole.... any number of things. All quite cute and will do you no harm.

In the house they are a different matter of course.

Yep, tbh it was quite cute. Can't tell from the link but it didn't have big ears like a mouse and was lightly coloured underneath. Happy to leave them until they think they're house guests!

Sounds vole-like to me. We're knee-deep in bank voles here, which are active during the day and night. We often see them dashing around the edges of the borders, and I’ve had them running around my feet on occasion. Never been a problem.

I had to rescue a harvest mouse from the cat last night - cute little things and as long as they are not inside, leave them be
