This show is held on the last Sunday in September (29th this year) at the Dalton Barracks and airfield just off the A34 at Abingdon. Although the show part (with judging classes and parades) is specifically for pre-1965 Fords, there are always lots of trade and private vendors selling new and used spares for newer cars. I intend to go as does Mark Colville in his Samurai.

Well- another great day out. The good weather certainly brought out the old Fords. Everything from Model Ts to GT40s along with a lot of rods and customs. The trade stands were useful as usual. I was looking for a 6dial Escort dash and expected to pay about £15. I got one along with an indicator switch for £35. It has the 130mph speedo (which I really need) and I saw another one priced at £85 !!! Also picked up an engine mounting for £10. Best of all I sold my Desert Dog tyres- to a guy from Bicester who is rebuilding a Minor-based jeep. It has a 1.7 Marina engine and he wants to sell it...
Cheers for now

The 2003 Show is on Sunday 28 September but if you turn up the day before at the same site you'll find the Abingdon 4x4 Festival.

The All Ford Rally is on tomorrow and the 4x4 Festival continues as well. On every outing from home today I've seen Landies, etc coming and going absolutely covered in mud so they're obviously having a good time. Must make sure they let me into the right event tomorrow!!!
Cheers

Well the rain stayed away and the day ended with almost clear blue skies. The show was probably better than ever with all classes well supported. 391 cars listed in the programme. The stalls were just as interesting as well- if I saw one six dial dash I saw a dozen and priced from £15. I bought the obligatory engine mounting (£8) and a flasher switch (another £8) and some stainless hose clips (4 for a £).
So- same time next year then- last Sunday in September.
Cheers
