Is there a "special" grease gun or whatever to lube these...............

( I appreciate this one is probably beyond needing a bit of grease)

Could just be a brass plug ,gingerly try with grips unscrewing, you can then replace with a grease nipple ,all rose joints I have had anything to do with have had conventional nipples

I have seen this type of grease nipple on big guillotines we had at work. (Printing)
The grease gun had a special end on it to fit.
That’s it sorry not more helpful.

If as the above post “concave nipples “then they will surely unscrew so that you can replace with conventional

Use a push-type oil/grease gun with pointed nozzle. Better, but not so common, is a spherical nozzle as it does not have to be square-on to seal.

I use this type of grease nipple at my work, you want this type of adaptor....

Sealy amongst many others sell a kit of every adaptor you're ever likely to need.

They become a bit of a PITA to use as you have to press the needle point to your grease nipple then pump your grease gun, so one of these makes the job so much easier....

Once you've used an electric grease gun you will quickly forget the cost and never look back.

Thanks Chris, I'm sure it does, but may be a little OTT for two joints on my bonnet hinges! smile
