Hi all,

I am shopping for my first 911.. I really struggle to get at all excited about black, grey and silver cars.. Especially as black is notoriously challenging to keep clean. I understand these sombre colours are best for re-sale..

Does anyone know the primary 'reason' behind this sobriety?

Hoping you can give me some insights into NON black/Grey/Silver cars and their scale of 'good luck selling that again'.. I quite fancy a Guards Red one.. but as it will sit on the drive and be a daily - am I risking car park envy issues at Sainsburys or flagging that my house needs burgling?

Any colours you feel are a no go?

Red
Blue
White
Green

Any opinions on Red leather interior welcome (assumedly on a Black car)..

Best

Simon

People are boring/conservative.

Guards red and Aqua blue are both great choices and I don't think they stand out too much. I don't buy into the resale argument as proven by the fact that I got more for my Aqua blue car than I would have if it was grey/black (according to the dealer who bought it).

I've also had a grey exterior on red interior 911 and that was a lovely combo too. The pictures always make the red interiors seem redder/brighter than they are in real life.

Thank you! Aqua blue seems to be really rare (or at least those that have them are seeing them).. Not many coming-up. I am rather keen on Guards Red!

997 looks great in Guards Red. When I bought a 997 GTS my only two colours I definitely didn’t want were Black or White which are probably 60% of the cars...I was delighted to get Silver! Couldn’t be fussy as it was the right spec car.

I am not really a fan of a red interior on a 997 especially with a Guards Red car. In the 991 the red interior comes with a black dash and steering wheel which I think just makes it bit a it less red.

Go on, be brave! Go for that fantastic PTS Signal Green car that JZM have - that should stand out against the greys silvers and blacks!

I went to see the PTS Signal Green car at JZM a few weeks ago. My god, it's stunning...but you'll get some attention in that (a good or bad thing, depending on your outlook). The Aqua Blue 997.2 Turbo they had was even better and that got snapped up pretty sharpish. No surprise there. I noticed that Ashgoods had an Aqua Blue 997.2 C2S last week and that didn't hang around long, either. It's a really lovely colour on any 911 I'd say. So is Guards Red. And Yellow! In short...go for it. Whatever you like is the right choice.

I just looked... WOW that PTS Signal Green Turbo is lively!! The Blue Turbo is gorgeous.. Makes the Guards Red seem like a safe bet.. Thank you for the replies.. Clearly I have found the colour fans on PH.. No doubters so far.. But why so many black ones then? Is it because owners prefer to be discrete with performance/wealth of a 911?

As an everyday car, The Aqua Blue is likely the best compromise of special and subtle.. Not sure about white..
