KIA Sorento engine 65 plate onwards

I have a 3 year old, 2.2 diesel KIA Sorento, and the engjne is banging or rattling and soon after begins to smoke from dipstick when moved.

A couple mechanics took a look and say it appears to be the bottom end of engjne.

So I need a new engine, either replaced or rebuilt but am having trouble finding an engine (code D4HB, 2015 onwards) and, or a good place to rebuild my engine.

The car is no longer under warranty as engine was oil starved.

Is anyone able to advise please

oil starved why ?

If the engine consumed it's own oil, and self destructed, it would be hard for them to accuse an owner of being at fault.

Finding somewhere reputable to rebuild, might be much harder than finding somewhere to fit a replacement engine. But as Hyundai and Kia are basically the same, engines should be fairly readily available ?
