I just changed the original battery in my 06 V8V & hooked up a spare battery to the under bonnet post but still lost all power.
with new battery fitted I had to reset drivers window but lost all power to passenger door (mirror & window) after a bit of research It seems this is not uncommon & removing/replacing fuse #82 may fix it (#83 for drivers side).
As the car is currently unregistered I left it for later & now 4 weeks later the new battery is dead flat & charger will not go to charge mode...any ideas please.

Could be a tracker draining it? New battery should last up to a month I'm sure - as long as there is no significant drain.

Not an electrical expert, but this might help.

If the charger you refer to, is the AM or CTEK trickle charger, then perhaps they do not function when a battery is completely flat.

Have you tried using a conventional charger?
