Cable length for outdoor speakers?
Discussion
I was planning on putting the speakers on the outside of the house but mocked them up and the sound was disappointing from the other end of the patio where we will likely be sitting. Perhaps unsurprising as this point is approx 15m from the house, set down a little and my girlfriend doesn't like the volume too high out of respect for the neighbours.
So think I might put the speakers at the other end, nearer where we will be sitting, problem is that the speaker runs will be approx 20-25m.
System is a Nuvo P3100 (20w per channel) through Kef Ventura 5 (6 ohm). I have a drum of Kabel direkt 2.5mm2/ 14 guage OFC that I was going to use.
A quick google suggests not more than 10m to keep under the 5% impedance rule.
Has anyone used really long runs of cable for outdoor speakers? Notice much difference?
Thanks, James

As above, cable runs of that length shouldn't cause an issue.
As for sounding best, assuming the area is a patio or something next to your house?
We found placing the speakers at the edge of the patio facing back towards the house sounded much better than the obvious positioning of pointing out into the garden. The sound reflecting back off the house made it seem louder and punchier. It also seemed to greatly reduce the spread of the sound making things a bit more neighbour friendly.
