1st stupid question!!

Ok, now armed with the cherished handbook I turn to page 55 which enlightens me on how to re-set the inertia switch and where it is located.
Firstly I cant find it Doh!! and secondly what is it??
What does it do??

I would guess that it sits on top of the fuel tank in the boot. An inertia switch is normally used to switch of the fuel pump in the event of a heavy impact or a car going upside down. In the Mk i it is under the 'flap' that sits atop the fuel tank.

Hi Bryan.
Nope I still have that switch. According to the manual this one is situated between the passenger door and console. It even shows a picture, but damned if I can find it!!!

Ahh, hang on a minute. I have just read another bit on the switch and you are right, it does appear to be the fuel cut out. They probably just haven't re-located mine which is still as you say in the boot. Mystery solved, I think. Thanks for assist.
