DB9 Volante - a gentleman's car
Discussion
Having now driven the car a couple of times since taking ownership on Thursday I felt it about time I pulled fuse 22. So I was a little surprised to find it wasn't there. I guess code (P1488?) had long since been cleared so the AM dealer wouldn't have been aware during their pre sale inspection. Or maybe they removed it for test drives and forgot to put it back.
I can understand why most owners pull the fuse because the car is certainly not too noisy without it and to my mind is still plenty quiet enough when cruising. So, an Aston designed for a gentleman rather than a boy racer.
My only concern is whether the bypass valves might have jammed open if the fuse has been out for years. So I'm inclined to ask the dealer for a fuse and if the valves are stuck I'll get them fixed under the timeless warranty. Then I'll pop the fuse in every month or so as seems a common practice on this forum. For complete peace of mind I'll also ask the dealer to confirm that removal of fuse 22 does not in any way affect the warranty; can't see why it should but we know what warranty companies can be like.
Meanwhile I now have a car worthy of a car meet at a nice pub tomorrow morning, which lays on a lovely full English.

To the OP i have a cc charger remote fuse relay thingy going spare off my db9. Used it for about a month then had the primaries taken off so redundant. Its the one with the memory function.
If you would like it all I ask is you make a suitable contribution to the RAF benevolent fund and send me your posting details.

SFT where are you off to sunday morning?
Hmm. Was going to The Woodman, Ide Hill, (near Sevenoaks) but the car wouldn't start or turn over. AM Emergency Assistance soon identified the problem to be the battery not holding enough charge to start the car, which is not surprising seeing as it's the original battery. So, play ended early over the bank holiday for me and I'll be onto the supplying dealer for a new battery on Tuesday.

Is that a monthly meet?
Yes 3rd Sunday. A mix of makes/models old and new. Like many meetings I think it's at risk of growing beyond the capacity of the pub, probably due to the draw of some nice cars and a quality breakfast.I need to find out what else is happening around the Kent/Sussex borders, AM specific or mixed.
