High stop 3rd light.
Discussion
I thought I would share this but realise this is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Out of necessity I’ve had to fit a high stop light for when the Chimaera goes to New Zealand next month.
All cars in NZ have to have a compulsory high stop light and the conversions I have seen look IMO not the best.
I brought a second hand boot and made a template for a Mini high stop light. I then cut and ground out a hole (ouch) to accommodate the light.
The boot fibreglass is quite thick and allowed me to shape a lip for the light to sit in.
A hole was drilled at the boot lid base and wires run for the light and connected to existing wiring.
In true TVR fashion I glued the light in place with a black mastic. Boot painted. Job done.
The light looks a little bright and in hindsight if done again I would use a tinted version of the same R52 Mini ligh

I agree - nice job, and very similar to the MX5 positioning.

Phazed and I both have rollover hoops fitted (thanks to having a healthy desire to keep our heads intact in case of a track day roll over).
This gave us both the option of using a self-adhesive LED strip and attaching it to the hoop so that is visible through the top of the rear window with the hood on, or simply attached to the hoop with the roof off/folded down.
