So someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Did the eastern Bunny not bring any eggs for you?

Eastern Bunny?

Is it a girl bunny or a boy bunny?

Middle Eastern Bunny,
It'll give you a runny tummy,
If so to refuse is not rude,
For you are not used to the food.

It’s a Zuckerbergism. He statutes it with his annoying approach to answering every question that way. Interns have done similar. Blair used to say Look and when trying to be forceful or rattled used Listen.

I agree that “so” is unbelievably annoying as it comes across as patronising as if I should already know the answer and they’re explaining it to a 5 year old. We should get a free pass on punching people
In the face who use it.

So watch anything on the news or listen to the radio when they are interviewing an 'expert' (especially tech or some nonsense) and the young person wearing glasses will start a sentence with "So". You then wait until they do it again and stop listening to what they were actually talking about.

So apparently, it's to give them a few extra seconds to think about what they are going to say. I can't help but think it wouldn't have been said 20 years ago apart from some places in the US. Same with 'like'.

So that's what I, like, think.

+1

I deliberately take longer to respond to emails that contain this way of requesting something. If it also contains no please, then you’re looking at about 2-3 days of silence.

Certainly not as irritating as ending a sentence with so.
