"Drop by the kettle is always on in Sunny Goonmarris", Gerry Doe aka Driftwood assured me.

I was going to visit him last saturday, but it was raining and Boris, my Jeep oops Geep or is it Sandero is topless. Anyone got a hood etc for sale please please contact me!

Today in Helston the sun was shining, so we set off up to Clay Country, where the white hills of Kaolin rise eirily out of the landscape like shimmering white pyramids - well they did before the planners decided they would look better landscaped with grass.

10 miles into the journey, as I get onto the A30, the heavens opened. From the joys of opentop motoring, with the wind in my hair, I slipped into the misery of driving a mobile washing machine.

It was fortunate I had taken a spare pair of jeans and another jumper because I was soaked when I reached Sunny Goonmarris.

Now for the up-side. Gerry's directions were excellent. Gerry's wife makes great coffee and sandwiches. We had a good time talking about Jagos etc.

Thank you for a great day.

Oh yes I forgot to say the sun did make an appearance.

The photos are now posted on the Yahoo site.

Unfortunately they were taken when the sun was out and give no impression of how wet it was that day.

My jeep Boris is faded red, sports a Bull bar and reg Q51GBG Gerry Doe's has better paintwork and no reg plate.

Boris is best described as a rolling restoration project.
