Apart from trying Watchfinder, are there any recommended places, forums, websites, etc. to sell my Rolex Submariner?

Registered on the Rolex Forum, thanks.

I looked at the classifieds on here and there wasn't a lot of any Rolex for sale, to which my currently wine addled brain, seemed to equate to "not a good place to sell".

Where is this? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times but seems like I don’t have access.

Pistonheads classifieds > non motoring > watches.

It’ll be gone in an hour on TZUK forums too (if realistically priced) however you need 250 posts to sell on there so, unless you’re already a user, it would likely take a while to be gain permission to sell there.

Thanks, I'll take a look at those.

Any idea in general what dealers are offering? I see on Watchfinder they're asking anywhere between £6995 and £8000!

Well, it depends. Do you have the original box, papers and all that jazz? What's the condition like?

From posts I have seen it seems Watchfinder will really try to take the piss and lowball you.

I'd stick it on the forum sale section here.

They offered me £4500 by email. Mine is mint so I decided to hold onto it.

How old is it? Does it have box and papers etc.

The issue you will have is as a first time seller, or one with limited references people may be wary of doing a high value deal.

Forget WF. At a push, try mark worthington as they tend to offer more than wf in my experience.

I've got the box and papers, etc and its in excellent condition bar a tiny mark on one of the lugs.

At £4500 I wouldn't sell either. I'll have a think and maybe try on here.

If its a minter ebay is just as good , have just sold an airking date
within a day on a buy it now and it made top money over what a trader would pay and paid via paypal asap, also have sold several omega speedmasters the same way, If you price it right it will sell, many traders on there looking for good stock and folk looking to purchase at realistic prices.

Weren't you worried about being scammed - buyer opening a dispute, item never received, packaged returned and it's a Casio, etc?

How do you filter out the A holes?

honestly would go to WF. eBay for that sum of money is too risky.

For that watch (which is in high demand) they would not low ball you. I sold them an LV and made a decent profit. I would think they would offer you 5xxx and stick it on sale for 6xxx, possibly 7xxx if mint.

WF offered me £1200 for a BNIB Tudor GMT (with all the paperwork) last year. they had 2 up for sale at £4200 at the time.

Sold it via ebay (cash on collection)

Another vote for Dom Hackett - I’ve never actually sold or bought anything (yet...) from him, but a few back-and-forths when trying to sell my watches and he’s provisionally offered a very reasonable ball park figure straight over the email

£1200? That's crazy if not a typo, I generally get a bid of £2900 on watches they retail for £4000 a Panerai 111 as an example that I sold them in Dec.
