Knew someone who superglued his tooth back in...
(was sat next to him at the time)
How long did it last? (was sat next to him at the time)
I had a toenail that had split vertically down the length of the nail. I super glued it back together and continued gluing it until the split had grown out. Worked a treat.
Superglue gets used for lots of things. I asked my dentist what they used for sticking crowns in and it's essentially superglue.

Mate I've used superglue to heal a cut. fingernail you will probably be okay
Fun fact, that's what it was used for originally. In 1942, while searching for materials to make clear plastic gun sights, Coover and his team at Eastman Kodak examined cyanoacrylates, a material that was used during both World Wars (1914-1918; 1939-1945) as an alternative to stitches on large cuts and wounds,[citation needed] rejecting them as too sticky. Nine years later, Coover was overseeing Kodak chemists investigating heat-resistant polymers for jet canopies when cyanoacrylates were once again tested and proved too sticky. That time around, however, Coover recognized that he had discovered a unique adhesive. In 1958, the adhesive, marketed by Kodak as Super Glue, was introduced for sale.[4]
While much attention was given to the glue's capacity to bond solid materials, Coover was also the first to recognize and patent cyanoacrylates as a tissue adhesive. First used in the Vietnam War to temporarily patch the internal organs of injured soldiers until conventional surgery could be performed, tissue adhesives are now used worldwide for a variety of sutureless surgical applications.[4]

No it wasn't. Someone has added the line about WW1 and 2 into Wiki. It wasn't used to heal wounds in war until Vietnam. If you read your wiki quote you can see the line that has been inserted doesn't make sense with the rest of it.
+1 for superglue - i'm using it currently on a small horizontal split.
Back in July I inadvertently shut the car door on my thumb nail in pitch dark. Ouch!!! The nail died and dropped off after a few weeks but I salvaged it and glued it back on to protect the new nail growing underneath. Looked ugly as sin, but not as ugly as no nail and I had to reglue it every few days. It wasn't till Feb that I finally discarded it as the new nail had finally reached the tip of the thumb. Nails grow very slowly at my age - and toe nails even slower than finger nails (something to do with the blood supply I gather).
