rerouting pipe rad to swirl pot preserp
Discussion
Hi John.
I have a 92 Precat which had ACT Performance stainless pipes fitted by the previous owner. I found that the swirlpot to top rad pipe was tight on the fan motor. There was a piece of rubber hose around the pipe trying to cushion the motor.
I wasn’t happy with this and contacted ACT and asked if they could make a pipe with an upward bend of, I think 15-20 degrees, in it to clear the fan motor.
I also thought that the 90 degree bend into the rad was to much so I had the pipe made with a 45 degree bend which I feel makes fitting easier.
Give ACT a call and have a chat.
I’ve tried to include a couple of photos but there’s a problem. Drop me a line via email and I’ll send you the photos direct.
Hope this helps.
Brian.

Thanks for your info. Brian, I ended up cutting the stainless pipe leaving a longer tail on the right-angle bend and used a bit of silicon hose to rejoin the stainless pieces, it moved the pipes more towards between the fans. Yours sounds a tidier solution so may try this later, cheers, John.
