Hi all,

Had the Wortec short shifter installed at Picador on Thursday. Took a bit of getting used to but now it just gets better and better the more I drive it. When I first drove it away I was a bit concerned at the effort to put it into each gear but it loosened off quickly and after a 'quick' blast today this is sooooo much better than the old tractor style shifter. This is much more slick and direct and the throw is much shorter. This means that I can get through the gears easily and without too much rpm drop off. It's not quite as short as the rip shifter but I had already tried one of those and it is way to precise and short for my likings. The standard shifter is just too agricultural and slow and the rip shifter is just too short - step in the Wortec Shifter - this really makes the gear change what it should have been like when it left the factory!! Thanks again Wortec!!

I tried it, and I couldn't agree more, much sweeter changes all the effort of changing gear with the old shifter has 90% gone. It's taken away the one thing that used to hack me off about the car.
My only question is why didn't it leave the factory like that?

If you have bought a GTS-R you have a shorter shifter already, so the best upgrade would be a "Rip Shifter"

"pomona" has a Rip Shifter on his GTS-R..............

As"UKHSV" says, the RipShifter is a good upgrade. You have to be careful if heavier clutch fitted as you could possibly BEAT the synchos,as the change from 2nd to 3rd is very, very quick, and a positive feel in all gearchanges.
