Hi, looking for some advice, took the Aston out of the garage started up fine (a couple of times) went to put it away and engine turns over but will not fire, car has been in garage for about a year but started regularly and checked over although I did have to charge the battery today.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Seems strange it started and then didn’t. I’d wait and give it another go. If it does finally start go for a decent drive and get the engine properly warmed up this time.

If I leave my bikes for extended periods they can be a bit cranky the first time they are fired up. Normally a good run will sort it out.

If you had to charge the battery my bet would be something like the immobiliser has been upset by low voltage. I don't have a vantage but can you hear the fuel pump priming normally, and can you when you turn the key to "ignition on" this time? If not then this might help to validate my theory.

I would get the battery fully charged if not already, then disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, the reconnect and retry.

probably a knackered battery. If you started it a couple of times but didn't drive it, then battery won't have enough 'charge' for another start. Hence you needing to put it on charge. Put it back on charge, if it starts take for a long drive. But, if its an original / old battery its going to need replacing soon

Left the battery on charge all night, disconnected battery and re-attached and all is good, a bit odd as engine did turn over without a problem, Thanks for all the ideas! (thought I was in for a big bill!)
