Well, isn't this just a whole chunk of wonderful?

(Though I wish Aston would invest in some better photos for the launch images, and not in white!)

It is indeed stunning. There is a Q spec dark blue one kicking about that is absolutely gorgeous.

I got to see one in the flesh a couple of weeks ago at a private event in dark blue (not sure of colour name), it’s stunning in the flesh....

Although I'm guessing a pre production factory test car. scratchchin

I've got a new money-no-object dream car. Looks worse than the coupe with the roof up, but then why would you have the roof up?

Curiously I've seen some comments elsewhere suggesting Aston aren't up-to-date because this isn't electric or hybrid. Clearly these people just don't get why we buy these cars.

£247,500 doesn't seem too outrageous either. 715bhp front engine GT with rear seats and decent luggage space, I'm pretty sure there isn't even a direct rival for this.

Ferrari have no plans for a convertible 812, as per F12. I suppose the closest rival is the McLaren 720S Spider but I know where my money would be going, and it isn't Woking.

Must be a US market pre production tester judging by the rear protrusions

LHD, and a dodgy wrap over the back end.

actually there will be an open 812 (not official yet, but it's in development) and it will already sold out pre announcement - there is a huge amount of interest in an open V12.

I've been told that's another limited run job though like the F60 America. Low numbers, high price and you have to nosh off the CEO to get one.

Fairly sure this is the car we saw at the factory on Tuesday. Now at Leeds

As I drive a 2016 Vanquish Volante I appreciated amazing torque and acceleration of a DBS coupe recently.. but for me the two problems are a. its basically a souped up DB11 however you look at it and hard to justify the extra £75k plus over a DB11, never mind the £100k plus i would have to put in to upgrade to a volante version.... and b, the noise just isn't as good as a NA v12 ... sorry but it isn't .. and the pops and bangs on overrun make it sound like an F type....

The 812 Spyder is being launched later this year I believe for production in 2020Q1. There is an expensive “special” though being launched at the end of May (or so I’m led to believe).

Exterior looks very good, expecially with closed roof. Strange "hinge" in the back when the roof is open.....but ok, have to see it in the flesh. Are there already private viewings outside the UK now?

The configurator is now online also, see here: https://www.astonmartin.com/en-us/models/dbs-super...

Very happy to see the standard wheels (rims) are much nicer imho than on the Coupe!
Several other new options also.

Pity it still has the "classic" auto box with torque convertor and the "old" DB11 interior............in this price range, Bentley (GTC) and Mercedes (S63/S65) do better imnho.

Let's wait and see for MY 2020/21.

Most credible info on Ferrari is that 812 Spider will be launched Sept/Oct this year.It will not be a limited edition model but regular production car like 812.Availability will mainly depend on how long it is in production for.
The private preview at the factory around 30 May this year will be a mid engined car (V8 Hybrid is best guess) which will be viewed as a rival to the McLaren Senna.

I do like the Portofino's roof, it looks like a coupe when closed, very smart, if Ferrari do something similar with the 812... that is going to be one very in demand car!

was at the factory yesterday and there's a few cars on the line almost ready for the press and marketing use and all in Cosmos Orange. No doubt the choice of colour will stir some emotions, but personally I think it looks fantastic.
