Probably not the best beer
Discussion
Oh. I'd noticed this in gig venues and just assumed it was just spivvy marketing for their usual pondwater offerings, I generally find a pilsener fairly pleasant. Won't hold my breath but might try subjecting myself when next faced with a depressingly familiar row of differently branded dishwaters.
That advert reminds me of mad men, 'toasted' for dirty fags.
They are trying to cash in on on premium market would be interesting to know how much more it cost to make, I would guess not a lot.
I like a drink lager, but would never touch the mass produced pigswill once you tried a few nice beers.

there's a few large brewing groups who produce a wide spectrum of product from your well known cooking brands through to decent plonk so there's no reason why whoever owns Carlsberg can't flog you a decent product. Marketing it as a Carlsberg sub brand might be a foolish decision though, might be their jaguar x type (brought to you by ford)They are trying to cash in on on premium market would be interesting to know how much more it cost to make, I would guess not a lot.

They have seen the prices charged by 'premium' brands and will charge for their new one accordingly.
I like a drop of Moretti but Peroni is terrible. Really gassy and costs too much for what it is.
As someone said before, Carlbergs Export is heads above most I think. All beers have suffered when they dropped their ABV's. Stella's 'wifebeater' tag is no longer since it's dropped to 4.8%.

Interesting - are they moving their pricing north?

Probably yes.

I prefer Carlsberg to Carling but that's not really saying a lot, a pub near to me sells it for £1.99 a pint which is pretty much the cheapest drink you can get in a bar.
Noticed they've also rebranded (and lowered the alcohol content quite a bit) Carlsberg Special Brew, it's going to take a lot to shake off the homeless park bench association.

Well I can now report on the taste of this exciting, new and much hyped 'Danish Pilsner' having seen it on offer in my GF's local Spar.
I couldn't tell the difference.
After a porn shoot in '04 I tried the first iteration of this, and I concur. Brewing is brewing people, yellow beer will always be yellow beer, brown brown and black black.I couldn't tell the difference.
