Does anyone here run/manage grab lorries? If so would you mind me asking a few questions via pm please? Trying to weigh up if purchasing one is worthwhile.

It all depends what you are grabbing.

Before buying an HGV, have you got an O licence?

We have an operators licence.

We are a construction company and currently use 3rd party grabs (hardcore/muckaway) which are expensive and unrealiable in this area, but trying to work out if the saving if significant enough to warrant it.

I know two people with grab lorries.

General theme seems to be unless you have a screeder and crusher you need to know a few farmer's who like cash.

Taking it to landfill costs as much as you're likely to be able to charge, as I understand it.

That was my concern! I'd imagine the profit margins are tiny.

Fire away, I have been running them since 2007 so have a fair idea about them.
